Soft power - the coolness of a great British cardigan
The LORTON 004 is a celebration of just how impeccable a cardigan can be when all the ingredients come together - the wool, the fit, the feel.
Jacket-like, the power of this piece lies in the elegance of the proportions. The raglan sleeve gives it that nod to the gentleman's cardigan and with that a certain structure, but it's the patch pockets and the softness of the collar that ensures this piece is very much for the Navygrey woman.
Tuck into denim, or wear layered up, this is a real forever knit where modern style meets British heritage.
Made in Nottinghamshire, this is a fully-fashioned cardigan - where each piece of the cardigan is knitted separately and then linked together by hand, and hand-finished. This means that not only is this knit of the highest quality, but that also there is minimal, often zero waste.
England's finest wool
This jumper is made from 100% British Bluefaced Leicester wool. The Bluefaced Leicester sheep yields some of the finest fleeces of any British breed. A micron of 25 – which has a wonderful lustre, strength and drape.
Sourced exclusively from a collective of farms in the north west of England via Upland Yarns, this wool is spun in Yorkshire using just water and organic detergents, and enables us to create beautiful British knitwear from sheep to sweater within 300 miles.
