The Original Breton. A Navy icon. Soft, yet structured and 100% organic. There's real substance and authenticity to our BRETON JERSEY - that sweet spot between a jumper and a t-shirt, weighty but not too much. Taking the traditional Breton shape - slightly tapered arms and just off-the-shoulder seams - we've tweaked the fit to ensure it retains a nostalgic silhouette yet is distinctively modern and easy with a feminine edge. A subtle relaxed fit with a small side split at the hem and a wide crisp flattering neckline. Take your usual size or size up by one for more slouch. 

A true-to-size, classic fit Breton, with the classic wider crisp neckline. A straight fit with a subtle dropped shoulder.

While it was demanded that a 'true' French navy uniform Breton have 21 stripes in 1858 to mark each of Napoleon's victories, we've adjusted that to 20 - to ensure the spacing between the stripes delivers a flattering, effortlessly-finished look.

Crafted from 100% Organic Cotton that is soft yet structured. The thickness of the organic cotton gives the piece a luxury cool feel.

Our 280gsm is a mid to heavy-weight organic cotton. Perfect to wear under a jumper on colder days but substantial enough on its own for a spring day.

100% ORGANIC COTTON
Made in Portugal.

  • Organic cotton is a natural fibre and should be washed with care.
  • Wash cold, (cotton doesn’t like hot water) on a gentle setting with the garment turned inside out and with similar colours.
  • When a cotton garment is first washed, it is possible that a little shrinkage will occur - around 5%. This is due to the natural characteristics of the cotton fibre and it will stable after the first cold gentle wash. 
  • We advise avoiding using fabric conditioner because it can clog the fabrication, permeating the fibres - which causes the material to lose its natural softness. Make sure to remove your garment from the washing machine promptly and reshape gently when wet.
  • After reshaping while damp, dry flat and provide a warm iron after washing so that its structure and shape remains at its best.
