A new addition to our iconic Fair Isle collection - the Fair Isle interpretation of our best-selling cardigan. A true Fair Isle, crafted from 100% Real Shetland Wool, sourced exclusively from Shetland. Designed on the Fair Isle itself in collaboration with textile designer and island resident Marie Bruhat.The palette draws on the abundant blues, greys and soft greens of the Shetland landscape, a homage to its wild beauty and to the robust, resilient nature of authentic Scottish wool. Cut in a relaxed silhouette, this V-neck, longer-line cardigan features in-set sleeves and a hem that drapes gently rather than grips. Subtly oversized, effortlessly warm, unmistakably Shetland. Orders to be despatched by the end of the w/c 1st December.

The Style

A classic oversize v-neck cardigan. Wear buttoned-up or undone. Cocooning with a inset sleeve. Chunky & warming.

The Feel

This piece, crafted from 100% Shetland Wool is more fibrous and edgy than our Scottish-spun wool.

So while this wool has an inherent softness, it does have a little more kick to it than our smoother Scottish-spun yarn.

It's hard to explain, but there's something very special about this brilliant hardy textured Shetland wool fibre. It feels proper, something your grandparents would have worn. And a knit of which they would heartily have approved.

The Weight

Our 5gg Fair Isle cardigan has a beautiful, chunky feel. Knitted with a traditional Fair Isle structure, the inside holds a double layer of yarn for extra warmth and softness. The V-neck shape gives it an easy, timeless feel, perfect for layering.

Lighter than the Oversize Cardigan but more substantial than the Cardigan 2.0.

How to wash & care

Less is best. Caring for 100% natural wool knitwear doesn't have to be complicated, we promise.

WASH LESS, AIR MORE
We recommend airing as the best way to look after your knit, with a hand wash in a basin (step away from the machine) every now and then. Read more about washing less and airing more. We believe in it so much that we even started a club.

MANAGING PILLING
Soft fibres are liable to pill to some extent, even when it's the best wools in the world. We recommend gently removing them with this specialist fabric shaver. It really is a game changer for keeping your knits in tip top condition.
