Warm and cool, chic and practical
Meg, Gwyneth, Sandra... those late 80s and 90s films really knew how to capture just how good a roll neck could be. With crispier and cosier days ahead, this is a real feminine and warm go to - natural wool, organically dyed and hand-finished all in the British Isles.
The beauty lies in its simplicity and attention to detail, from sheep through to finished sweater. The rolled edge cuff detail is designed to echo the roll neck and we've crafted the raglan sleeve shape to give the jumper an easy structure.
Designed so that it pairs perfectly with both trousers and skirts, this really is sustainable luxury. Knitted in a chunky 3 gauge, with 4 ply wool yarn and full-fashioned - where each piece of the jumper is knitted separately and then linked together by hand and hand-finished. This means that not only is this knit one of the highest quality, but that also there is minimal, often zero, waste.
The finest Scottish-spun wool
Our superfine wool arrives in Scotland by boat once a year, sourced from a special breed of sheep in South Africa.
With a fibre diameter of c. 18.5 microns, it is one of the world's finest and softest Lambs Wools. (Most average 21-24 microns). We have knitted this style into a luxurious 3 gauge jumper.
It is here in Scotland that the wool is spun and dyed on the banks of Loch Leven in Kinross by Todd & Duncan, one of the finest Scottish Mills which has been spinning yarn for 150+ years.
Over 90% of the dyes used by Todd & Duncan are organic and the water used for washing and dyeing the wool is cleaned and purified before being returned to Loch Leven to be used again. It is a pioneering and cyclical process that helps to protect the environment in and around the loch.
