A new colourway of our iconic Fair Isle knit. Evocative and nostalgic, this is a true Fair Isle. Made with 100% Shetland Wool, sourced exclusively from Shetland. Designed on Fair Isle in collaboration with textile designer and Fair Isle resident, Marie Bruhat. With colours inspired by the abundant blues, greys and greens that dominate the Shetland landscape - a homage to the wild beauty of Shetland and the robust and resilient nature of this authentic Scottish wool that's both incredibly warm and light. A modern pullover made with a relaxed fit, with dropped sleeves and a hem that drapes rather than grips, this is the ultimate winter jumper.

The Style

The Feel

This piece, crafted from 100% Shetland Wool is more fibrous and edgy than our Scottish-spun wool.

So while this wool has an inherent softness, it does have a little more kick to it than our smoother Scottish-spun yarn.

It's hard to explain, but there's something very special about this brilliant hardy textured Shetland wool fibre. It feels proper, something your grandparents would have worn. And a knit of which they would heartily have approved.

The Weight

Our 5gg Fair Isle has a beautiful, chunky feel - more substantial than out Real Shetland Brushed arriving later in the year, but not as heavy as the Oversized. The traditional patterning creates a double layer of yarn on the inside of the garment for added warmth and comfort.

How to wash & care

Less is best. Caring for 100% natural wool knitwear doesn't have to be complicated, we promise.

WASH LESS, AIR MORE
We recommend airing as the best way to look after your knit, with a hand wash in a basin (step away from the machine) every now and then. Read more about washing less and airing more. We believe in it so much that we even started a club.

MANAGING PILLING
Soft fibres are liable to pill to some extent, even when it's the best wools in the world. We recommend gently removing them with this specialist fabric shaver. It really is a game changer for keeping your knits in tip top condition.
