We pledge to plant a tree for every order of The HEIRLOOM CARDIGAN. But where are these trees? And who plants them?

Trees are vital to our planet. In 2019, global deforestation reached 64 million acres a year. 

By funding the nurturing and planting of a tree, we can play a small role in protecting our environment for the next generation - the greatest heirloom we can pass on. 

But tree planting is not always as simple as it sounds. Schemes can be obscure. A sapling may or may not withstand the test of time, and become strong enough to make a difference to the climate. 

That's something we want to know. For this reason, we've chosen to plant trees through the World Land Trust.

The World Land Trust works with local partners to protect crucial areas of land, selecting sites that are rich in biodiversity and that support long-term conservation goals to connect and enlarge protected areas. Partners are supported throughout the reforestation process, from the planting and care of young trees, through to their establishment as a new forest habitat.

That means we know that each time we plant a tree, our donation will see a seed collected, planted and protected, guaranteeing a new forest to help biodiversity and tackle climate change.

Not only do the World Land Trust see the process of tree planting through to fruition, they also take care to plant native species that will thrive. Their current reforestation projects (in Brazil, Malaysian Borneo, India and Kenya) are all unique. This means they are able to ensure that they are supporting the conservation and creation of wildlife-rich habitats, benefitting local communities, reconnecting forest areas, and storing carbon. The World Land Trust is helping to restore lost forests. And with your help, we're doing our bit to support them in that.
