The BRETON 01. A Navy icon. Soft, yet structured and 100% organic. There's real substance and authenticity to our BRETON JERSEY - that sweet spot between a jumper and a t-shirt, weighty but not too much. Taking the traditional Breton shape - slightly tapered arms and just off-the-shoulder seams - we've tweaked the fit to ensure it retains a nostalgic silhouette yet is distinctively modern and easy with a feminine edge. A subtle relaxed fit with a small side split at the hem and a wide crisp flattering neckline. Take your usual size or size up by one for more slouch.

The Style

A true-to-size, classic fit Breton, with the classic wider crisp neckline. A straight fit with a subtle dropped shoulder.

While it was demanded that a 'true' French navy uniform Breton have 21 stripes in 1858 to mark each of Napoleon's victories, we've adjusted that to 20 - to ensure the spacing between the stripes delivers a flattering, effortlessly-finished look.

Crafted from 100% Organic Cotton that is soft yet structured. The thickness of the organic cotton gives the piece a luxury cool feel.

How to wash & care

Organic cotton is a natural fibre and should be washed with care.
Wash cold, (cotton doesn’t like hot water) on a gentle setting with the garment turned inside out and with similar colours.
When a cotton garment is first washed, it is possible that a little shrinkage will occur - around 5%. This is due to the natural characteristics of the cotton fibre and it will stable after the first cold gentle wash.
We advise avoiding using fabric conditioner because it can clog the fabrication, permeating the fibres - which causes the material to lose its natural softness. Make sure to remove your garment from the washing machine promptly and reshape gently when wet.
After reshaping while damp, dry flat and provide a warm iron after washing so that its structure and shape remains at its best.
