At Navygrey, we love a beautifully packaged parcel. From a gorgeous jumper to a pair of PJs, here's how we're wrapping things this year. 

1. The base

We're opting for recyclable options, which means no glitter or shine. But that doesn't mean boring looking gifts, in fact we think that a natural looking base (think brown Kraft paper, or pale pink tissue paper) finished off with some twine and a sprig of something pretty has a certain elegance. These are our top picks.

Kraft wrapping paper is an undeniable classic, and this one from John Lewis is no exception.If you're looking for something more festive, then this fun Kraft paper from Paperchase could be for you.

Tissue paper can look very chic, just make sure to use enough sheets otherwise you'll be able to see through it. We like this blush paper from WH Smith and this light grey paper from Etsy is very Navygrey.

If you need something a little more special, then these gift boxes from Etsy come with a lovely gift tag and little flower topper.2. The finishing touch

Ribbon or twine? Both look marvellous and give it that special finishing touch.

We use recycled ribbon in our products. These reels from John Lewis are made from recycled plastic bottles and come in a variety of colours, perfect for adding a little pop of colour.

Linen is also a more sustainable alternative, and this reel features a festive red stripe.

If you prefer a more natural looking flourish, opt for twine of raffia. This raffia ribbon set comes in natural brown, as well as a Christmas red and green. Otherwise, this set includes twine, string and biodegradable kraft tape. Ready, set, go.3. The final flourish

Adding a sprig of holly or a couple eucalyptus leaves can take really elevate a gift even further. Head into your garden and pick whatever is seasonal. If you haven't got a garden, ask a neighbour or friend. Otherwise you can buy seasonal stems from your local florist.

Whatever you can find is perfect, it's just a little flourish after all.
