Weaving Workshop with Maria Sigma
We are delighted to be working with Maria Sigma, an award winning textile designer and weaver, specialising in 'zero waste' ethical hand-woven textiles.
Join Maria at Meadow for a weaving workshop that will teach you all the basics of frame weaving and how to turn your household waste textiles into textile masterpieces.
〰️
The workshop is a 2.5-hour class designed to give students a thorough and intensive grounding in hand-weaving. You will learn foundational weaving skills, such as warping and basic weaving techniques and patterns, and finishing techniques.
Using Navygrey yarn, you can make a small wall hanging, pieces for a patchwork, a phone-case or an abstract artwork, and plenty more.
A £25 voucher towards a Navygrey purchase will be offered with each booking.
Limited Places Available.
Thoughtful Living: Gallery Supper & Talk
Meadow will also be hosting a Panel Talk and dinner with Navygrey founder Rachel Carvell-Spedding, founder of VCHStyle.com and journalist, Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey, and weaver Maria Sigma.
A practical and inspiring conversation on the ways in which we can live more thoughtfully and sustainably. Panellists will discuss adopting a mindful approach to purchasing and developing more responsible ways to shop. They will discuss regenerative fashion, creatively re-using and upcycling, sustainable shopping habits and ethical awareness. Leave equipped with a greater understanding and full of imaginative and impactful ways to be a force for good.
Followed by delicious, seasonal, three-course menu served in Meadow's gallery rooms and of course opportunity to shop Navygrey knits.
