Dear Spring, Welcome back. You've been missed.
Over the last few weeks, you’ve given us a glimpse of what’s to come. The occasional blue sky. A daffodil or two. We even spotted a few lambs. But you were promptly pushed back. Not yet.
We do love you winter... but goodness, you’ve stayed too long. Cold, dark mornings. We’re done with the damp.
Spring, you persevered. And you’re finally here. A gentle beauty - bringing us early butterflies, blossoms, alliums.
It's been a very dark time. You bring hope, optimism, a sense of new life. New beginnings. Rejuvenating us, enlivening us and giving us a great big dose of vitality.
Yes, we know you’ll bring some rain, we're OK with that. We need a few downpours to keep that green crispness in the air.
Raising our face to the sky to feel the gentle warmth of the sun. To sit outside for more than a snapped moment. To feast on that first crop of buttery new potatoes and asparagus.
We’ll soon be ready to leave the coat at home. To swap boots for loafers.
To stride out in just a jumper. Bliss.
Spring, it's good to see you again.
With love,
