Tea with Navygrey Woman

Kate Anniss

Founder, Mylo Art

Mylo Art was founded by Kate in 2014 with the aim of bringing beautiful art to interior and exterior spaces. Kate has a background in Art history and comes from a family of artists and designers.

She previously worked as an Art Consultant in London for 10 years. Sourcing and commissioning thousands of artworks for individuals, hotels and cruise liners, before settling down in Hampshire to share her love of art further.

Kate also has partnered with Laura Reynolds and Carrie Dunlop to create Meadow - our current pop up spot. Set in Stockbridge, Hampshire it is a minimalist cafe, and Mylo art is located above.

We sat down with Kate at Meadow over a cup of tea to get to know her a bit more.

Kate wears the AUTHENTIC FUNNEL in Espresso.

Tea or Coffee?

Coffee! An old school cappuccino using Moon Roast beans made at Meadow - the very best coffee!

Marmalade or Jam?

I want to like marmalade as it has all the cosiest associations, but it's raspberry jam all the way, preferably made by my mother.

Lie in or Early Bird?

How I wish I was an early bird, I can snooze till noon.

Book or Newspaper

Book - every night before I sleep. I just finished the Whale Bone Theatre, Joanna Quin's debut novel and I cannot recommend it enough.

Country or Coast?

Coast - The sea, the light, the air, cold or warm it's the sea for me.

Summer or Winter?

Definitely summer, a really long hot one.

Spring or Autumn?

Spring in the UK can still feel cold and harsh - I love the liquid colours of Autumn and the thought of Winter at that point is still a snowy postcard, not the long grey affair it is in reality.

Denim or Dress?

I love dresses but denim is so much more practical for my line of work.

Cardigan or Jumper?

A great big warm soft jumper.
