Crafted from our locally grown wool, sourced from farms across the British Isles, this is the cardigan friend to our much loved FIELD CREW. Taking the easy shape of the crew neck and longer in length than our signature grandfather CARDIGAN, this is a true British take on the slouchy boyfriend cardigan. With corozo nut buttons that extend down the front and side pockets, the textured wispy nature of this wool has an almost alpaca feel. It is not as soft as our signature Scottish-spun wool - but this is a hearty wool to fall in love with - authentic and truly British.
As this is a fine yet more textured British wool, its fibrous quality (a bit like mohair/alpaca) means that you will notice some loose fibres springing up from time to time. This is the natural behaviour of the yarn and to be expected.

This jumper comes in its own linen bag and is shipped in 100% recycled cardboard boxes made from post-consumer waste in the UK.

The British boyfriend cardigan
Easy to wear and with just the right amount of slouch, with its drop sleeve and its longer length, this British cardigan is a must for autumnal days ahead.
The textured, slightly more rustic British-sourced wool has an almost alpaca/mohair feel, giving this cardigan a bit of an edge. It's not as smooth as our Scottish-spun wool, this has a little more of an authentic kick - but slip on something under it and you're all set.
Transform the cardigan into a jumper by buttoning up the front and tucking under the hem, or layer over shirts and t shirts for true British warmth.

The FIELD CARDIGAN is a testimony to the success and sheer joy of working with a local product, local people and local purpose.
100% British, made within a radius of 145 miles from fibre to finished cardigan.
More fibrous and edgy than our Scottish-spun wool, there’s something very special about wearing this brilliant textured British wool that has a real connection to British farmland.
With wool sourced exclusively from farms here in the UK - made from a blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Masham wool, the fibre heads to the mill in Laxtons in Yorkshire. It is here that this great British mill spins the wool into yarn - from fleece to fibre in just 50 miles.
The wool then travels by road to Nottinghamshire where it is knitted.
It is an honour to play a small part in helping to revive a real love for British wool, by creating a knit that we believe you'll love for years to come.
